W&L Men's Lax Joins Fight Against Ovarian Cancer
LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee men’s lacrosse team will complete its regular season schedule at home on Saturday as it hosts Randolph-Macon for a 1:00 pm game.
Prior to the game, the Generals will honor their 12 senior players and have a moment of silence in memory of Jori Daw, mother of senior attackman Spence Daw, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer this past January.
To pay tribute to Mrs. Daw and her family, and help to fight this sad disease, the team will be seeking donations to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, the nation’s foremost ovarian cancer fundraiser, educator and research organization.
The Generals ask that those in attendance at the game consider making a donation. Additionally, donations will be accepted by mail and online. Checks can be made payable to Washington and Lee University in care of Gene McCabe with a memo entitled “Jori Daw Tribute”. The address is Gene McCabe, Men’s Lacrosse Coach, Washington and Lee University, 204 W. Washington St., Lexington, VA 24450.
To donate online, simply visit www.ovariancancer.org and click “Donate Now” on the right hand side of the page. Be sure to check the box in order to make the donation in honor of Mrs. Daw.
The 2011 Washington and Lee men’s lacrosse team appreciates your support of their cause.
