W&L's LaSala Receives Preseason All-America Honors

LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee sophomore defenseman Joe LaSala (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) has been tabbed as a Division III Preseason Honorable Mention All-America selection by Faceoff Yearbook.

LaSala receives the preseason honor after garnering Second Team All-ODAC recognition following his rookie season in 2010.  LaSala started all 17 games last spring in helping the Generals defense rank 13th in Division III in scoring defense (6.71 GAA) and 12th in man-down percentage (.821).  He led the team with 40 caused turnovers and collected 26 ground balls en route to receiving the team's C.W. Pacy Award as the top first-year player.

LaSala was joined on the Faceoff Preseason All-America teams by a host of players from around the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  Roanoke placed Justin Tuma (M) on the first team, Alex Burkhead (D) on the second team and Jeff Keating (A) and Trey Keeley (M) on the honorable mention.  Lynchburg's Dylan Hoff (A) and Max Voumard (M) were placed on the honorable mention squad as well.

Washington and Lee completed the 2010 season with an 11-6 overall record and a 4-3 mark in conference play.  The Generals open the 2011 campaign by hosting Ferrum College on February 15 at 5:00 pm.
