W&L Men's Golf is Tied For First at ODAC Championships
CONOVER, N.C. – The Washington and Lee men's golf team is currently tied for first out of 10 teams after the first round at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship held at the Rock Barn Golf Club on Sunday.
The Generals carded a score of 312 and are tied atop the standings with Guilford. Shenandoah is third with a 325 and Hampden-Sydney is fourth with a 330.
Individually, Hampden-Sydney's Brian Burt leads the field after day one with a +1 score of 73. W&L claimed three players in the Top 10 lead by first-year Cody Solomon (Peachtree Corners, Ga. / Wesleyan School), who is tied for second out of 50 golfers with a 75 (+3). First-year Conley Hurst (Little Rock, Ark. / Episcopal) is tied for fifth with a 77, while junior Taylor Stagg (Midlothian, Va. / James River) is tied for seventh with a 79.
Junior Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn. / McCallie School) is 13th with an 81 and first-year Todd Alan McDonald (Little Rock, Ark. / Little Rock Christian) rounds out the Generals in the event with an 86 that is tied for 25th.
Action continues on Monday with the second of three rounds from Rock Barn.
