CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – The Washington and Lee men's golf team was in action on Friday in the opening day of the Marine Corps Intercollegiate held at the Paradise Point Golf Club.
W&L played the easier Scarlet Course (Par 70) on Friday shooting a team score of 304. The Generals will play the more difficult Gold course (Par 72) on Saturday and the top half of the field will finish the tournament on the Gold Course on Sunday. The rest of the field will play its final round on the Scarlet Course.
Junior Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn. / McCallie School) and first-year Todd Alan McDonald (Little Rock, Ark. / Little Rock Christian) led the Generals' contingent in the field, as both shot an opening round score of 73 (+3). First-year Conley Hurst (Little Rock, Ark. / Episcopal) tallied a 78, while sophomore Teddy Corcoran (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) and first-year Cody Solomon (Peachtree Corners, Ga. / Wesleyan School) both notched scores of 80.
Action continues on Saturday with the second round from Paradise Point.
