GLEN ALLEN, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's golf team finished with a 310 on Sunday to place fourth out of 11 teams at the Ted Keller Memorial held at the Hunting Hawk Golf Club.
Guilford shot a low round of 300 on the second day to finish with a 294-300—594 and place first. Host Randolph-Macon notched a 290-315—605 to finish second, while Franklin & Marshall placed third with a score of 299-310—609. The Generals' score on Sunday tied for the second-lowest of the day as they finished with a 314-310—624. Hampden-Sydney rounded out the Top 5 teams with a score of 307-318—625.
Randolph-Macon's Kyle Fuller was the individual medalist after shooting a 70-75—145 (+1). First-year Teddy Corcoran (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) was the top finisher for W&L, carding a 75-74—149 (+5) to tie for sixth-place.
Junior Mark Sowinski (Greensboro, N.C. / Bishop McGuinness) tied for 19th after carding a two-day score of 78-77—155, while sophomore Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn. / McCallie School) totaled 81-79—160 to tie for 32nd.
Washington and Lee will have a JV match with Bridgewater on October 16, while the varsity squad will return to action on October 22-23 at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford at the Cardinal Golf & Country Club.
