W&L Golf Competes at O'Briant-Jensen Memorial

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Washington and Lee golf team opened with a 329 to rank 13th out of the 15 teams participating at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by Guilford on Monday at the Cardinal Golf & Country Club.

The host Quakers lead the two-day event with an opening day score of 294 and are followed by Greensboro and Methodist, who are tied for second with scores of 298.

Individually, Guilford's Noah Ratner leads the event with a five-under par score of 65.  The top General after the first round is senior Wilson Anthony (Fordyce, Ark./Episcopal), who is tied for 41st with an 80.

Sophomores Jake Struebing (Amherst, N.Y./Amherst Central) and Mark Sowinski (Greensboro, N.C./Bishop McGuinness), and first-year Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn./McCallie School) are all tied for 59th with scores of 83, while sophomore Jack Cottrill (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) is tied for 82nd with an 88.

Final round action will continue from Greensboro on Tuesday morning.
