W&L Golf Resides in Fifth Place After Day Two of ODAC's

CAPE CHARLES, Va. – The Washington and Lee golf team shot a second round score of 321 on Monday and currently resides in fifth place at the ODAC Championships held at the Bay Creek Golf Club.

The Generals shot the high round on Monday and now trail overall leader Bridgewater by 20 strokes.  The Eagles carded a 312-299—611 and are followed by Guilford (314-302—616), Roanoke (317-307—624), Lynchburg (329-300—629), W&L (310-321—631), Hampden-Sydney (334-313—647), Randolph-Macon (342-305—647) and Virginia Wesleyan (340-317—657).

Individually for W&L, sophomore Wilson Anthony (Fordyce, Ark./Episcopal) and senior Joe Gibson (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster) are tied for 10th place with scores of 157.  Anthony went 75-82—157, while Gibson has carded a 79-78—157.  Senior Robert Womble (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) resides in a tie for 18th place with a 78-81—159, while senior Matt Langan (Prospect, Ky./Trinity) is tied for 25th with an 81-80—161.  Junior Tim Gavrich (Avon, Conn./Westminster) is in 27th place with a 78-84—162.

Guilford’s Peter Latimer leads the individuals after shooting a 69 on Monday for a score of 79-69—148 (+4).  Mike Redwood and John Phillips of Bridgewater are tied for second with a pair of 150 scores.

Washington and Lee will return to action on Tuesday as it competes in the final round of the championship event.  The Generals tee off at 8:55 am.
