W&L Golf Completes Day 2 at Marine Corps Intercollegiate

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -- The Washington and Lee golf team completed day two of the Marine Corps Intercollegiate held at the Paradise Point Golf Course in Camp Lejeune, N.C., on Saturday.

The Generals played the Scarlet Course (Par 70) and finished day two with a 287 for a two-day score of 303-287--590.

Senior Joe Gibson (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster) paced W&L on day two with an even-par score of 70 for a two-day total of 79-70--149.  Junior Tim Gavrich (Avon, Conn./Westminster) shot a 71 for a score of 75-71--146 and sophomore Wilson Anthony (Fordyce, Ark./Episcopal) carded a 72 for a score of 75-72--147.  Seniors Matt Langan (Prospect, Ky./Trinity) and Robert Womble (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) finished Saturday with scores of 75-76--151 and 78-74--152, respectively.

Final round action continues on Sunday.
