W&L Men's Basketball Stymied by No. 10 Virginia Wesleyan, 81-53
The seventh-seeded Washington and Lee men’s basketball team went almost six minutes without scoring at the end of the first half, as seconded-seeded Virginia Wesleyan earned an 81-53 victory in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament at the Salem Civic Center on Thursday.

First-year forward Clayton Murtha (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds to lead the Washington and Lee men’s basketball team to an 83-72 victory over Randolph on Wednesday at the Warner Center. It marked the first double-double of Murtha’s career.

Numerous W&L Students Earn Fall Scholar-Athlete Awards
Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that a record 224 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed fall term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.50. The total contains 34 more athletes than any previous fall term and is 14 more than in any previous winter term.
