Kylie Cale is in her fourth season as an assistant coach with the W&L field hockey program. Through three years, the Generals have a 35-22 (.614) overall mark and 16-7 record in the conference. Over the last two seasons, W&L has advanced to the ODAC Championship game in both years. The back-to-back spots in the conference title game marked the first time in W&L history the field hockey team has achieved the feat.
In 2016, the Blue and White finished the year 13-7 overall and 6-2 in the ODAC. The 13 victories were the most for the program since the 2006 season.
In 2015, W&L was the No. 1 seed in the league tournament for the first time since 2005, and the team advanced to the conference championship game for the first time since 2005.
Over her three seasons, Cale has coached one All-America honoree, eight players earned All-ODAC laurels, including five first-team receipients, and two players garnered all-region accolades a total of three times.
Cale came to Lexington from Oxon Hill, Md., where she worked for the Gaylord National Resort and Covention Center since August of 2012. She began as a seasonal assistant manager of special events and was promoted to recruiting coordinator and most recently to a recruiter.
Cale was a four-year member of the field hockey team at Christopher Newport University, graduating in 2011 with a bachelor of arts in English. On the field, she was a four-time letterwinner and the team's leader in assists as a sophomore and senior. As a midfielder, she received First Team All-State honors in 2008 and she was a Second Team All-Region selection in 2009. Her 12 assists as a sophomore are the second-most in CNU history.
Cale later served as an assistant coach at CNU for the 2011 season while earning a master of arts in teaching in 2012. Her field hockey experiences also include working camps and serving as a USA Futures Field Hockey Coach.
