Lawson and Westfal Highlight Major Award Winners at W&L
Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior soccer player Kat Lawson (White Post, Va./Clarke County) and senior football player Charlie Westfal (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced that Washington and Lee University has claimed the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup for the ninth-straight year.

Numerous W&L Students Earn Winter Scholar-Athlete Awards
Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 185 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

2011 Washington and Lee Field Hockey Season Preview
The name of the game is scoring goals and for the second season in a row, the Washington and Lee field hockey team has some questions as to who is going to provide the offense. Last season, the Generals had to replace the program’s all-time leading scorer in Sallie Armstrong. Then, Kelly Tran came seemingly out of nowhere in 2010 and put together a 14-goal, 7-assist season to total 35 points.
