Sophomore midfielder Chelsea Stevenson (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) began the comeback with her sixth goal of the season following a pass from senior midfielder Emmy Mathews (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) to cut the Tigers' lead to two goals.
Mathews then set up senior forward Kelly Tran (Simsbury, Conn./Ethel Walker) for her 11th goal of the season to put the score at 3-2 in favor of Sewanee.
A full box score was not immediately available.
The Generals return to action on Saturday when they travel to Randolph-Macon for a 1:00 pm contest.
Generals' Field Hockey Falls to Sewanee, 4-3
SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Washington and Lee field hockey team rallied from a 3-0 haftime deficit to tie the game at 3-3 before ultimately falling, 4-3, to Sewanee on Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind 3-0 after the first 35 minutes, the
Generals (7-6) tallied the game's next three goals to tie the
affair at 3-3 before the Tigers (4-8) netted the game winner with
just over 12 minutes remaining in the contest.
