CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Washington and Lee senior Sallie Armstrong (Houston, Texas/St. John’s) was recently named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Second Team All-South Region squad.
This marks the second-consecutive year that Armstrong has received NFHCA All-Region honors, as she was also a second team selection a year ago.
Armstrong totaled 37 points on 17 goals and three assists on the year and became W&L’s all-time leader in goals scored (56) and total points (130). She helped lead the Generals to a 10-7 overall record and an appearance in the conference semifinals.
Her 17 goals were good for third in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, as were her 37 total points. She led the ODAC with five game-winning goals this season and was a four-time first team all-conference honoree.
