Garrett LeRose is in his 10th season as an assistant football coach with the Generals. He currently serves as the team’s tight ends and wide receivers coach.

LeRose has helped lead the Generals to a trio of ODAC titles, claiming the crown in 2010, 2012 and 2015.

In his time as an offensive assistant, he helped W&L set a plethora of offensive records, including helping the W&L offense average 469.3 yards and 33.9 points per game last season.  The Generals once again led all of college football in rushing with an average of 390.3 rushing yards per contest, and W&L had four games of 550 or more total offensive yards and produced four of the Top 10 single-game rushing performances in conference history, including a season-best 566 rushing yards in a 52-7 win over Hampden-Sydney.

A December 2007 W&L graduate with a degree in European history, LeRose was a four-year letterwinner for the Generals’ football team, playing wide receiver, halfback and quarterback. He was a member of the 2006 ODAC Championship team, the first team in school history to advance to the Division III playoffs.

Following his playing days, LeRose joined the Generals’ staff as a student assistant, working with both the running backs and the wide receivers. His duties included comprehensive film assessment and breakdown, as well as preparation of practice plans.  In addition to serving as an assistant football coach, LeRose also serves as the co-chair of the W&L Athletics Promotions Committee.  He and his wife Elizabeth, W&L’s Associate Director of Athletics, reside in Lexington with their sons Hudson and Holden.
