MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Washington and Lee senior offensive lineman Connor Hollenbeck (Alpharetta, Ga. / Alpharetta) added another postseason honor recently when he was named to the D3Football.com All-America team.
Hollenbeck was selected to the Honorable Mention All-America squad as a tackle, one of eight offensive tackles to be recognized nationally. A Preseason Second Team All-America choice by the same website, Hollenbeck adds the honor to a list that already includes earning First Team All-America laurels by the American Football Coaches Association.
Hollenbeck garnered his All-America honors after posting First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honors for the second straight season. He started all 10 games in 2013, paving the way for a rushing offense that ranks second in Division III with an average of 346.7 yards per game.
A four-year starter and four-time All-ODAC honoree, Hollenbeck is the fifth W&L player to earn All-America honors from D3Football.com. Recently, Luke Heinsohn '13 garnered fourth team laurels last season, while John Fitzgibbons '12 and Jake Pelton '13 were honored in 2011. Fitzgibbons was a first team selection, while Pelton earned honorable mention recognition.
Washington and Lee finished the 2013 season with a 5-5 overall record and a 3-4 mark in conference play.
