FOREST, Va. – Washington and Lee junior running back Harrison Hudson (Salem, Va./Salem) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Football Player of the Week for the week ending October 24.
Hudson is the third W&L player to receive offensive POW honors this fall as all three starting running backs have now garnered the honor. Sophomore Luke Heinsohn (Charlottesville, Va./Covenant) picked up the award for October 3 and Brett Murray received the honor on October 10. Additionally, sophomore safety Jake Pelton (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) was named the league's defensive player of the week on two occasions (October 3 and October 17).
Hudson helped lead the Generals to their fourth win in a row with a 35-34 victory at Bridgewater on Saturday. W&L amassed 438 rushing yards in the contest led by Hudson's career-high 204 yards on just 18 carries. He also caught one pass for three yards. For the year, Hudson has rushed for 548 yards and three touchdowns and has caught a team-high 11 passes for 192 yards and two more scores. His 8.8 yards per carry this season is on pace to shatter the school record of 7.1 yards per carry.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday evening as it travels to Catholic University for a 7:00 pm game.
