W&L Athletics Declares Saturday's Homecoming Games as a "Blue Out"

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee Department of Athletics has declared Saturday’s homecoming athletics contests a “Blue Out”.

The department is encouraging fans to attend as many events as possible and wear as much blue as they can in support of the Generals.

Saturday’s home events include:

Women’s Soccer vs. Lynchburg; 11:00 am
Field Hockey vs. Bridgewater; 1:00 pm
Football vs. Catholic; 1:30 pm
Men’s Soccer vs. Roanoke; 3:00 pm

The department will also declare big games throughout the year as designated “Blue Out” games and encourage students and members of the University community to support its teams with a show of support by wearing all blue.

“We believe that this is a great way for the campus community to show their school spirit and support the student-athletes at Washington and Lee,” said Jan Hathorn, Director of Athletics.  “We encourage everyone to attend at least one game this weekend, wear as much blue as humanly possible and cheer on the Generals to victory.”
