Headlining the award winners were senior soccer/track & field athlete Maggie Sutherland (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and senior basketball/track & field athlete Ben Goetsch (Timonium, Md./Gilman), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced its 2009 all-conference football teams on Tuesday afternoon and Washington and Lee had eight players honored on the first, second and honorable mention squads. Additionally, junior offensive lineman Greg Kurkis (Roswell, Ga./Westminster) was named the Co-ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year winner along with Hampden-Sydney senior linebacker Josh Miller.
