
Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior soccer player Kat Lawson (White Post, Va./Clarke County) and senior football player Charlie Westfal (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that Mandy King has resigned as head women’s basketball coach effective immediately in order to assume the same position at Kean University in New Jersey.

Six members of the Washington and Lee women’s lacrosse team have received All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honors, including senior midfielder Christina Benedetti (Derwood, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) being selected as the Player of the Year, as the league announced the all-conference teams on Tuesday.
