W&L Track & Field Athlete Honored by USTFCCCA
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its 2009 Division III
Women's All-Academic Team and recent W&L graduate Elizabeth
Webb (Middleburg, Va./Wakefield) was among those honored.
Webb, who also earned CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America
honors, garnered numerous All-ODAC citations in her four seasons,
including being named the ODAC Outdoor Athlete of the Meet as a
junior and the ODAC Indoor and Outdoor Athlete of the Meet as a
senior. She also received the ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of
the Year Award for both the indoor and outdoor seasons her final
two years.
Webb was also a two-time All-ODAC and all-region honoree in cross
country. She qualified for the 2007 NCAA Championship event and
helped lead the Generals to four-straight ODAC titles. Webb
graduated holding five school records and was the recipient of a
prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, as well as a Fulbright
Scholarship.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a
student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average
of 3.30 and have met the NCAA Division III indoor or outdoor
automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective
event.
