W&L Women's Lacrosse Team Nationally Recognized
WEST HYANNISPORT, Mass. -- The Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team moved up to fifth in the April 1st edition of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA)/Under Armour National Poll for Division III.
The Generals' current ranking is the highest in program history following a 14-8 win over Middlebury on Tuesday, a 17-11 win over Catholic on Thursday and a 13-7 win over Randolph-Macon on Sunday.
The Blue and White currently hold an 11-1 overall record and a 4-0 mark in the ODAC and are led by sophomore attacker Britten Mathews (Richmond, Va./Collegiate), who has 39 points on 24 goals and 15 assists. Junior midfielder Colleen Evans (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) has 28 goals and nine assists totaling 37 points. Senior goalkeeper Sarah Tilbor (West Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) has notched 90 saves, has a save percentage of .549 and a goals-against average of 6.73.
The Generals host Sweet Briar on Wednesday for a 4:00 pm contest.
