Tom Brower Earns CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Recent Washington and Lee graduate Tom Brower (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Track & Field/Cross Country team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Brower was selected to the College Division Second Team after graduating with a degree in politics and maintaining a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in excess of 3.9.

On the cross country course, Brower was a two-time First Team All-ODAC and three-time All-South/Southeast Region honoree. He finished third overall at the 2007 ODAC Cross Country Championship and crossed the tape 19th overall (26:52) at the 2007 NCAA South/Southeast Region Championship. He was named the ODAC Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year following each of his final two seasons and he was twice named CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District. Brower is also a member of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Men's Cross Country Team.

Brower's selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America squad brings W&L's all-time total to 46 student-athletes honored since 1975. The CoSIDA College Division consists of student-athletes from all NCAA Division II, III and NAIA schools across the United States.
