LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee juniors Stacy Doornbos (Roswell, Ga./Lassiter) and Jessica Shaw (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) earned All-America honors in their respective events after their performances at the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend.
Doornbos placed third in the heptathlon with a school-record point total of 4,737, while Shaw finished fifth in the 5000 meters with a school-record time of 16:56.78. As a team, the Generals placed 25th overall.
Josephine Schaeffer '96 was the last Washington and Lee woman's track and field athlete to receive All-America laurels. In 1993, she competed in the 10,000 meters and finished in 36:31.82.
