KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2007 College Team Academic Award Winners recently, and the Washington and Lee men's and women's soccer teams were among the honored programs.
The criteria for the NSCAA Team Academic Award is posting a team grade-point-averaged (GPA) over 3.0 for the designated year.
The men were one of 111 teams recognized by posting a GPA of 3.18. The women posted a 3.33 GPA and were one of 295 programs honored.
The women totaled a 16-4 overall record in 2007, falling in the ODAC Semifinals to conference runner-up and NCAA Tournament Participant, Roanoke, 2-1. The men completed the 2007 season with a 12-3-3 overall record and advanced to the ODAC finals for the first time since 2003.
