ODAC Releases Indoor Track & Field Coaches Poll

Salem, Virginia -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) recently released its 2007-08 Indoor Track & Field Coaches Poll. The Washington and Lee women's team was selected to finish second, while the men were tabbed to finish third.

On the women's side, Roanoke sits atop the poll with all six first-place votes (36). W&L (30) appears a close second in the poll, followed by Lynchburg (22), Bridgewater (20), Eastern Mennonite (11) and Virginia Wesleyan (7).

For the men, reigning ODAC Champion Lynchburg tops the poll with five first-place votes (34). Bridgewater (30) sits behind with one first-place vote, followed by W&L (23), Roanoke (17), Eastern Mennonite (16) and Virginia Wesleyan (6).

The Generals opened their 2007-08 season at the Liberty Kick Off Tournament on Dec. 1 and had nine Top 5 finishes. In women's competition, freshman Summer Lollie (Mesquite, Texas./Dr. John D. Horn) set a school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.29 seconds. On the men's side, sophomore Billy Billington (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy) finished first among Division III competitors with a lifetime-best in the shot put (46’10.75”).

W&L returns to competition on Jan. 19 at the Marietta Invite.
