W&L SWIM TEAMS GARNER ACADEMIC ACCOLADE

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently announced its 2006-07 Academic All-America teams and the Washington and Lee men's and women's swim teams were both recognized for their academic achievements.

Both the men's and women's teams were cited as Academic All-America teams after posting team grade-point averages (GPA) in excess of the minimum 2.80.

The Washington and Lee men's team posted a 10-2 record during the regular season en route to earning its fourth-straight Bluegrass Mountain Championship. The men will continue the 2006-07 season at the NCAA Division III Championships held in Houston, Texas from March 15-17.

The W&L women's squad went 7-9 overall, took second at the ODAC Championship meet and will return all but one swimmer to its roster in 2007-08.
