SOMERS, Wis. -- Washington and Lee junior Tim McGlaston (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro) has been named the Division III National Collegiate Men's Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com for the week ending November 5.
McGlaston garnered the award for his performance in helping lead the Generals to a 172-69 win over Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon. McGlaston set a pool and school record, while achieving an NCAA automatic cut in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.66.
The cut was the first of McGlaston's career and broke a 24-year-old pool record set by Joseph Gentile at the 1982 NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by W&L. McGlaston also anchored the winning 200 medley relay (1:37.12) squad and led off the victorious 200 freestyle relay (20.96) team, which produced an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:24.02.
McGlaston and the Generals (3-0) will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they host Gettysburg on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
