W&L WOMEN'S SWIMMING PICKED FIRST IN ODAC PRESEASON POLL
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its women's swimming preseason poll on Friday and Washington and Lee was picked first among the conference's seven teams.
W&L, who has won 13 consecutive ODAC Championships, received 46 points and four first place votes. Randolph-Macon was second with 45 points and Randolph-Macon Woman's College placed third with 32 points.
The Generals had a 10-5 overall record and a 6-0 mark in the ODAC last season and return five swimmers who were named to the 2005-06 All-ODAC team.
The Generals opened the 2006-07 season last weekend with a 161-101 win over Transylvania University on Saturday and a 118-87 loss to Centre on Sunday.
