W&L WOMEN'S TENNIS TO PLAY WILLIAMS IN NCAA QUARTERFINALS
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The top-ranked Washington and Lee women's
tennis team will play ninth-ranked Williams in the quarterfinals of
the NCAA Division III Tournament held on the campus of the
University of California-Santa Cruz. The match will be played on
Wed., May 17 at 9:30 am.
The Generals (26-0) advanced to play the Ephs (14-6) after
defeating 21st-ranked Mary Washington and 12th-ranked Carnegie
Mellon by identical 5-0 scores in the first two rounds of the
tournament. The winner of the W&L/Williams match will face the
winner of the match between fourth-ranked Claremont-Mudd Scripps
(18-3) and sixth-ranked DePauw (24-1) in the first NCAA Semifinal
on Thu., May 18 at 9:30 am.
