LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's swimming team won their 13th consecutive ODAC Championship and were rewarded by having seven swimmers named First Team All-ODAC.
The seven selections were senior Kristine Holda (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville), sophomores Jessica Cobb (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) and Amy Roberson (Nacogdoches, Texas/Nacogdoches), and freshmen Susan Mahoney (Richmond, Va./St. Catherines), Julianne Miata (Valhalla, N.Y./Westlake), Jessica Shaw (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) and Lindsey Strachan (Midlothian, Va./Maggie Walker Governor's).
Holda claimed her fourth straight All-ODAC selection after winning the 50-yard (25.38) and 200-yard freestyle in a school-record time of 1:57.28 at the conference championship meet. She also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (54.33).
Cobb, who earned All-ODAC honors for the second consecutive season, placed third in both the 100-yard (1:01.34) and 200-yard (2:14.58) backstroke events. Roberson also garnered All-ODAC accolades for the second straight season with a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.06).
Mahoney finished second in the 400-yard IM (4:49.52), while Miata captured the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.08) and placed third in both the 200-yard IM (2:15.82) and 400-yard IM (4:49.59).
Strachan won the 500-yard freestyle (5:24.57) and was second in both the 100-yard (1:00.91) and 200-yard (2:10.35) backstroke events.
The Generals also set school records in three relay races. The foursome of Cobb, Shaw, Roberson and Holda won the 200-yard medley relay in a school, meet and ODAC-record time of 1:51.88. Holda, Miata, Roberson and Strachan captured the 200-yard freestyle relay in a school-record time of 1:41.87, while Holda, Strachan, Mahoney and Roberson touched the wall first in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a school-record time of 3:42.01.
Washington and Lee finished the season with a 10-5 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in the ODAC.
