MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Washington and Lee sophomore second baseman David Miller (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton) has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Second Team All-South Region Baseball Team which was announced recently.
Miller adds the award to the First Team All-ODAC and First Team All-State accolades which he has already earned. Miller was one of four Generals to start all 40 games and led the team with a school-record 161 at-bats and 21 walks. He finished with a .391 average, 63 hits, 11 doubles, 41 runs, six stolen bases and 33 RBI.
After two seasons of play, Miller ranks first in school history with a .382 career batting average.
Washington and Lee completed the 2005 season with a 27-13 overall record, 10-8 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Generals peaked in the ABCA Division III poll at No. 29 at one point during the season.
