LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior men's tennis player Paul McClure (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) earned All-America honors for the second straight season based upon his finish at the NCAA Division III singles championship held over the weekend at UC Santa Cruz.

McClure earned the award after winning his opening round match over Ryan Carty of the College of New Jersey, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5. He was then defeated in the second round by Jim Shaughnessy of Trinity (Texas), 6-2, 6-3.

McClure also garnered All-America honors in 2004 by advancing to the NCAA Singles Quarterfinals.

A two-time ODAC Player of the Year and 2005 ODAC Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year, McClure finishes his career as W&L's first two-time All-American since Robby MacNaughton did so in 1994 and 1995.

Washington and Lee finished the 2005 season with a 16-6 overall record and claimed its 10th straight ODAC Championship. The Generals advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round before falling to second-ranked Emory University, 4-0.
