PERINI NAMED ODAC WOMEN'S LACROSSE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
SALEM, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior goalkeeper Joanna Perini (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
A psychology and public policy double-major, Perini claims a 3.562 cumulative grade-point average.
On the field, Perini earned First Team All-ODAC, Second Team All-State, Second Team All-South Atlantic Region honors last season. Additionally, she was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. An Honorable Mention All-American as a freshman, Perini ranks second all-time at W&L with 579 career saves.
This season, Perini ranks in the Top 20 nationally in goals-against average (6.42) and save percentage (.593).
Washington and Lee is 15-3 overall and ranked 10th in Division III this season. The Generals claimed the ODAC Championship on Sunday with an 11-9 win over Virginia Wesleyan in the tournament final. W&L now waits to see who it will face in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
