W&L SET TO HOST NCAA YOUTH BASKETBALL CLINIC
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The tipoff for the W&L men's basketball game against top-ranked Hampden-Sydney on Sun., Jan. 18 has been moved from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm to accomodate the NCAA Basketball Day Youth Clinic which W&L will be hosting that day.
Washington and Lee University is among three schools, one in each NCAA Division, chosen to host the NCAA Basketball Day, a free clinic for boys and girls in grades 1-8.
The clinic will be conducted by the Washington and Lee men's and women's basketball coaching staffs on Sun., Jan. 18 from 11:30 am - 4:00 pm. It will be followed by the W&L men's basketball game against No. 1-ranked Hampden-Sydney at 5:00 pm.
Approximately 100-150 youths from the Lexington, Buena Vista and Staunton communities are expected to participate in the clinic which includes a parent discussion, two skills sessions and a scrimmage. The NCAA Basketball mascot, J.J. Jumper, will also be on hand for entertainment at the clinic and game against the Tigers.
