W&L WOMEN'S LACROSSE LANDS FOUR ON ALL-REGION SQUAD
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Four members of the Washington and Lee women's
lacrosse team have been named to the Brine/IWLCA Women's Lacrosse
Division III South Atlantic Region All-America Team.
Senior defender Eloise Priest (Alexandria, Va./St.
Stephens-St.Agnes) was selected to the first team for the third
consecutive season, while senior defender Julie Carskadon
(Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown), junior attacker Leslie Bogart
(Wilton, Conn./Wilton), and junior defender Sarah Janowitz (Bel
Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) were all named to the second team.
Priest was named to the first team after spearheading a defense
that ranked 14th in Division III, allowing just 7.41 goals per
game. In addition, Priest caused a team-high 41 turnovers and
picked up 35 ground balls this season. Priest also earned First
Team All-ODAC honors for the third consecutive season and was
selected to the ODAC All-Tournament Team. She is a Preseason First
Team All-America selection.
Carskadon earned second team honors after enjoying her finest
season in a W&L uniform. A First Team All-ODAC selection, she
finished fifth on the team with 17 points on 13 goals and four
assists. Carskadon led the team with 73 ground balls and also
caused 30 turnovers.
Bogart earned second team accolades after leading the Generals
offensive attack. A First Team All-ODAC honoree this season, Bogart
led the Generals with 58 points on 16 goals and a W&L
single-season record 42 assists. In her three years at W&L,
Bogart is already the school's all-time assist leader with 93
helpers and ranks second on the all-time scoring list with 164
career points.
Janowitz was selected to the second team after aiding a W&L
defense which ranked 14th in Division III, allowing an average of
just 7.41 goals per contest. Janowitz finished second on the squad
with 38 caused turnovers and third on the team by notching 48
ground balls. She earned First Team All-ODAC honors after being a
second team pick as a sophomore.
Washington and Lee completed its season with an overall record of
11-6 and advanced to the ODAC Championship game where it was
defeated in overtime by Randolph-Macon, 12-11.
