RADFORD, Va. -- For the fifth consecutive season, Washington and Lee women's swimming coach Kiki Jacobs Moore has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. The Generals made a clean sweep of the postseason honors as sophomore Katie Kennedy (Delran, N.J./Delran) garnered Swimmer of the Year honors.
Jacobs Moore led the Generals to their seventh consecutive ODAC/Atlantic States championship and a school-record 10 dual-meet victories. Over her nine seasons at the helm of the W&L swimming program, Jacobs Moore has accumulated an overall record of 72-48 overall, 28-0 ODAC.
Kennedy, a sophomore transfer from the Naval Academy, set W&L- and ODAC-records this season in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.23) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.39) events. She also holds the ODAC's fastest times this season in the 500-yard freestyle (5:21.37) and the 200-yard IM (2:17.38). Kennedy swam to victories at this past weekend's ODAC/Atlantic States swim meet in the 500 freestyle and both breaststroke events. Due to meet restrictions, she did not compete in the 200 IM.
Washington and Lee completed its season at 10-5 overall, 4-0 ODAC. The Generals have now won 38 consecutive ODAC dual meets dating back to December of 1987.
