WHITE, HOLTON NAMED TO FOOTBALL GAZETTE ALL-SOUTH REGION TEAM

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Football Gazette All-South Region team was released on Wednesday afternoon and Washington and Lee had two players honored.

Junior offensive lineman Justin Holton (Pittsburg, Texas/Pittsburg) and freshman tight end Davis White (Birmingham, Ala./Episcopal (Va.)) were both named to the Third Team.

Holton, a 1999 First Team All-ODAC selection, helped anchor a W&L offensive line that paved the way for a school-record 384.7 yards of total offense per game and allowed just 12 sacks in 313 passing attempts.

White, an Honorable Mention All-ODAC selection, caught 39 passes for 626 yards and a team-high six touchdowns. He was sixth in the ODAC in receiving with an average of 62.6 receiving yards per game.

Washington and Lee finished the 1999 season with a 5-5 overall record, 3-3 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
