Baseball's Sigler Named All-South Region
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee sophomore pitcher David Sigler (Strasburg, Pa./ Lampter-Strasburg) was named Second Team All- South Region on Monday by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
In 1999, Sigler tied the W&L mark for most wins in a season, going 8-3 and winning all eight games in a row. He also broke program single-season records for strikeouts (74) and complete games (9). Sigler led the team with an ERA of 3.08 and had a sterling strikeout-to-walk ratio of nearly 3:1. In doing so, he was also named First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Sigler helped the Generals to the most single-season wins in school history (21-12) and a berth to the ODAC Championship game for the first time in 15 years.
