Shana Levine began her appointment as Washington and Lee's
Associate Director of Athletics in February of 2008.
In this position, Levine is responsible for coordinating
compliance regulations within NCAA, ODAC, and institutional
guidelines, oversight and management of NCAA compliance and
eligibility, assisting in event and game management for all
university special events and athletic home contests, coordinating
athletic facility scheduling, serving as the liaison with campus
housing and dining facilities, and organizing and preparing grant
requests and awards for the NCAA, ODAC, and other
organizations. She is also assigned oversight for several of
the University's athletic programs.
A 2001 Washington and Lee graduate, Levine returned to Lexington
following three years with the National Collegiate Athletic
Association (NCAA). She began as an enforcement services
intern in 2004 and was promoted to Coordinator of Membership
Services and then was named the Assistant Director of
Student-Athlete Reinstatement in October 2005. She then acted as an
Associate Director of Membership Services/Division III Governance
Liaison.
Prior to her work with the NCAA, Levine earned a law degree from
the University of Pittsburgh and was admitted into the Indiana Bar
in 2005. While in law school, she served as an assistant women's
soccer coach at Carnegie Mellon University from 2001-2004 and
served as a compliance and student life intern at the University of
Pittsburgh Department of Athletics from 2003-2004.
Levine earned a bachelor of arts in biology from W&L, where
she was a four-year letterwinner and a team captain for the soccer
team. As a member of the Generals' defense, Levine racked up 15
goals and seven assists, en route to garnering All-Region,
All-State and All-Conference honors over her career.
Levine resides in Rockbridge County with her husband, Clark.
