W&L VOLLEYBALL NETS TWO ALL-ODAC SELECTIONS

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference volleyball team was announced on Friday evening and Washington and Lee had two players honored in addition to capturing the Coach of the Year.

Sophomore outside hitter Michelle Chastain (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) was named to the First Team All-ODAC squad, while freshman middle blocker Susan Gaillard (Charleston, S.C./Porter-Gaud) was tabbed Second Team All-ODAC. In addition, Gaillard was named the ODAC Rookie of the Year and Head Coach Bryan Snyder garnered ODAC Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season.

Chastain earned the award after totaling 449 kills, 339 digs, 81 services aces and 55 blocks. Her 449 kills mark thesecond-highest total in school history.

Gaillard was named to the second team after notching 372 kills, 99 blocks and 65 digs. Her .391 hitting percentage is currently the highest single-season percentage in school history. Gaillard's selection as the ODAC Rookie of the Year marks the fourth-straight season that a W&L player has received the award.

Snyder earned the Coach of the Year award after leading the Generals to a school-record 31 wins against just seven losses and an ODAC Championship. In just three seasons, Snyder has amassed an 81-22 overall record, 28-2 in the ODAC.

Guilford senior outside hitter Jennifer Pue-Gilchrist was named the ODAC Player of the Year.

Washington and Lee, which won the ODAC Championship, will be in action again in the NCAA Tournament. The Generals will find out who and where they play on Sunday evening.
