LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee volleyball team plays its first home matches of the 2018 season this Friday and Saturday. Due to the restoration of Doremus Gymnasium and the reconstruction of the former Warner Center into the Richard L. Duchossois Athletic and Recreation Center, the volleyball team, as well as the men’s and women’s basketball teams, will host all of their home contests for two seasons at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
A temporary floating wood floor competition court has been laid on two of the four indoor tennis courts to accommodate the need for those athletics teams.
To arrive at the Duchossois Tennis Center, take Route 60 West through downtown Lexington and past the W&L campus and the University Parking Deck. Proceed up the hill approximately 1/2 mile past the parking deck and turn right on West Denny Circle. Proceed on West Denny Circle for 1/2 mile until the road takes a 90 degree turn to the right. At this point, the Duchossois Tennis Center is right in front of you. Parking is available in the lot to the left, and there is overflow parking lot available next to Miller Field off of Boneyard Road.
The future home of the volleyball team and the men’s and women’s basketball teams, the Richard L. Duchossois Athletic and Recreation Center, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2020.
