LEXINGTON, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced that Washington and Lee junior Cordelia Peters (Larkspur, Calif. / Hotchkiss) and first-year Jack Taylor (Baltimore, Md. / Saint Paul's) have been named the ODAC Women’s and Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week for the week ending March 18.
Peters earned the ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week Award after helping lead the Generals to a 13-9 victory over then 19th-ranked Catholic on Saturday. She tallied a career-best six points on a career-high tying four goals and two assists. It marked the second time this season that she has recorded a hat trick.
Peters leads the team in scoring this season with 16 points on 11 goals and five assists. She has also notched three draw controls and one ground ball this season.
Taylor was named the ODAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after helping W&L to a 2-0 week with wins over third-ranked Gettysburg (13-8) and Randolph-Macon (12-6).
In a 13-8 win over the Bullets, Taylor saved 11 shots as W&L posted its first Top 5 win in three years. He followed that performance with eight saves and allowed just six goals in a 12-6 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday.
For the year, Taylor has played in four games and he claims a .581 save percentage and 8.00 goals-against average.
The 14th-ranked W&L women’s lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts 10th-ranked Tufts at 4:00 pm. The 19th-ranked men’s lacrosse team will play again on Saturday when it hosts 10th-ranked Roanoke for a 1:00 pm contest.
